CEO's Corner - March Reflection

March is a powerful reminder of why our work matters. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, I’m inspired by the mentorship story highlighted in this issue and the launch of our 100x Impact Initiative. Both are powerful examples of how we are building career infrastructure for our community. When we create intentional access to mentorship, capital, executive insight, and emerging tools like AI, we don’t just help individuals advance, we multiply opportunity across our entire network.
On a personal note, I’m writing this message having just returned from a weeklong vacation in Maui with my wife. For the first time since around 2007, I took to the skies there again as a paraglider pilot. Floating above the island offered a rare moment of perspective; how important it is to occasionally step back, gain altitude, and return with renewed clarity and purpose. I feel that same sense of optimism as I look at the extraordinary 2026 Executive Leadership Team, Associate Board, and City Leads stepping forward to serve our community. From growing local engagement to expanding mentorship and national programming, the momentum is real. I’m energized by where we’re headed and grateful to be building this future together.
With gratitude,
Richard Velazquez, CEO
