CEO's Corner - January Reflection

As we step into January 2026, I want to begin by saying how energized and grateful I feel for this community. A new year always brings a sense of renewal, but this year, that feeling is especially strong for Latinx MBA Association.

This week, our Board of Directors and I will be gathering in Phoenix for our annual Board Leadership Retreat. These moments of reflection and planning are critical as we align around our priorities for the year ahead and ensure we are building an organization that continues to serve our members with impact, integrity, and ambition. While in Phoenix, we’re also excited to be co-hosting a member social mixer with the ALPFA Phoenix Chapter. If you’re a local member, I warmly encourage you to join us. These connections across organizations and cities are what make our community so powerful.

I’m also thrilled to share that we received more than 100 submissions from individuals interested in volunteering with Latinx MBA Association in 2026. That level of interest is both humbling and energizing. It speaks volumes about the passion, talent, and generosity of this community. Over the coming weeks, our team will be reviewing opportunities and reaching out to those who expressed interest. If you raised your hand, thank you. We see you, and we’re excited about what we can build together.

As we look ahead, 2026 is shaping up to be a year of growth, connection, and renewed purpose. Whether you are a long-time member, a first-time volunteer, a partner, or a supporter, please know that your engagement matters. Together, we are continuing to strengthen a national community of Hispanic Leaders who uplift one another and create opportunity for the next generation.

Here’s to a year of momentum, collaboration, and bold possibilities.

With gratitude and excitement,

Richard Velazquez, CEO
